Link Marketing
At one point in time, everyone traded links to get more back-links to their sites. Some bloggers thought this was a simple and easy method to receive a lot of high quality two way links. This however resulted in a lot of sites linking to spam or rubbish just to get an extra link. The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page and is somewhat used by Google and other search engines to determine the PageRank of a webpage.
